Connecting-rod bearing cups for the HDE 9000SA-SA3 1/3 diesel generator set
Pair of connecting rod bearing shells for the Hahn & Sohn HDE 9000SA-SA3 1/3 diesel generator. They provide the sliding bearing surface between the connecting rod and the crankshaft journal. Always replaced together with the connecting rod during a complete engine overhaul.
The bearing shells form the sliding bearing surface between the connecting rod big end and the crankshaft journal. They carry the dynamic forces transmitted from the piston during every power stroke and must therefore maintain a continuous lubricating oil film between the connecting rod and the shaft. Worn bearing shells are indicated by characteristic engine knocking and a drop in oil pressure.
- The set consists of two bearing shells - one shown in the photograph has a visible oil distribution groove on the inner surface, while the other is smooth, which corresponds to a common design where one half provides lubrication and the other primarily carries the load.
- The part is designed for the 192F engine - a single-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine with a displacement of 499 cm³, as used in the HDE 9000SA-SA3 1/3 generator.
- The generator delivers a maximum output of 6.5 kW and a rated output of 6 kW at both 230 V and 400 V, and the diesel engine operates at 3000-3600 rpm.
- The bearing shells are always replaced as a pair together with the connecting rod, never individually.

WHY CUSTOMERS CHOOSE THEM
- Exact match for the 192F engine - used in the HDE 9000SA-SA3 1/3
- Pair of bearing shells in one package - upper and lower half
- Essential parts for a complete engine overhaul
PRACTICAL TIP
Before installing new bearing shells, measure the crankshaft journal on which the connecting rod runs using a micrometer - if it is worn or its ovality exceeds the tolerance, the shaft must be reground and corresponding undersize bearing shells used. New bearing shells fitted to a worn journal will quickly lose their function.
KEY FEATURES
- Type: pair of connecting rod bearing shells
- One bearing shell with lubrication groove, the other smooth
- Designed for engine: 192F (single-cylinder, 499 cm³, air-cooled, diesel)
- Compatibility: Hahn & Sohn HDE 9000SA-SA3 1/3
USE / INSTALLATION / OPERATION
- Remove the cylinder head, oil sump, and connecting rod big-end cap according to the service procedure.
- Remove the old bearing shells from both the connecting rod and the cap.
- Before installing the new bearing shells, measure the crankshaft journal on which the connecting rod runs.
- Fit the new bearing shell with the lubrication groove into the connecting rod so that the groove aligns with the oil passage, and fit the smooth bearing shell into the cap.
- Reinstall the cap according to the pairing number and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
- Check that the connecting rod moves freely without excessive play or stiffness.
Installation requires experience with combustion engine servicing and precise measuring instruments.
