Fuel filter for Hahn & Sohn HDE 15000EA3, HDE 15000SA3 and HDE 18000SA3 diesel generators
Fuel filter for Hahn & Sohn HDE 15000EA3, HDE 15000SA3, and HDE 18000SA3 diesel generators. Captures impurities from the diesel fuel before they reach the fuel injection system and protects it against damage. A regularly replaced consumable part located in the fuel line between the tank and the engine.
The fuel filter protects the sensitive fuel injection system from mechanical impurities and deposits commonly found in diesel fuel, especially if the machine remains unused for an extended period. The injection pump and injectors operate with very small clearances, so even a small contaminant can cause damage or improper operation.
- The filter has a plastic inline design and is installed directly in the fuel hose between the tank and the engine using two hose barbs. The filter body is marked with a flow direction arrow, which indicates the correct installation orientation.
- The filter is designed for three Hahn & Sohn diesel generator models. The HDE 15000EA3 and HDE 15000SA3 are equipped with a twin-cylinder engine with a displacement of 997 cm³ and an output of 11-12 kW; they differ only in their design, with an open frame versus a soundproofed enclosure. The HDE 18000SA3 has a twin-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1247 cm³ and an output of 14-15 kW. All three operate at 3000 rpm on diesel fuel compliant with EN 590.
- A clogged or incorrectly installed filter may cause irregular engine operation, loss of output, or starting difficulties due to insufficient fuel supply.

WHY CUSTOMERS CHOOSE IT
- One filter for three models - HDE 15000EA3, HDE 15000SA3, and HDE 18000SA3
- Simple inline installation into the existing fuel hose
- Marked flow direction - easy verification of correct orientation
- Protects the fuel injection system against contaminants in the fuel
PRACTICAL TIP
Before installing the new filter, note the arrow on its body and install it so that it points in the direction of fuel flow, from the tank towards the engine. If installed backwards, the filter may either not filter the fuel correctly or may restrict the flow enough to prevent the engine from starting or cause irregular operation.
KEY FEATURES
- Type: fuel filter, plastic inline design
- Connection: two hose barbs
- Marked flow direction (arrow on the body)
- Designed for: Hahn & Sohn diesel generators
- Compatibility: HDE 15000EA3, HDE 15000SA3, HDE 18000SA3
- Engines: twin-cylinder 997 cm³ (11-12 kW) and 1247 cm³ (14-15 kW), 3000 rpm
USE / INSTALLATION / OPERATION
- Switch off the generator and allow the engine to cool. Make sure there are no open flames or ignition sources nearby.
- Shut off the fuel supply from the tank if the machine design allows it, or prepare a container to catch any escaping diesel fuel.
- Loosen the hose clamps on both sides of the old filter and remove the filter from the hose.
- Install the new filter so that the arrow on the body points in the direction of fuel flow from the tank towards the engine.
- Fit the hoses onto both barbs and secure them with clamps.
- Open the fuel supply and check both connections for leaks before starting the machine.
Work on the fuel line only when the engine is cool and away from sources of open flame. Escaped diesel fuel is flammable and slippery.
