Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) – How It Works in Practice

Hahn & Sohn ATS 6 kW / 10 A - indoor

The automatic transfer switch (ATS) is used to automatically start the generator in the event of a power failure, thus ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to selected circuits. As soon as the power supply from the grid is restored, the generator switches off automatically and the power supply switches back to the distribution network.

Thanks to this function, the generator acts as a reliable backup source without the need to manually switch anything on or off.

⚠️ Important note: The ATS switch is not included with the generator and must be purchased separately.

Notice

The product is supplied without engine oil and fuel.

Before first start-up, add oil for four-stroke diesel engines (e.g. SAE 10W-30) and use diesel fuel according to EN 590.

Check the oil and fuel levels before each use.
