Reliable backup power supply for a mountain chalet in Nálepkovo
In mountain areas where power outages are frequent, it is essential to have a reliable backup power source. As part of this project, we supplied and installed a Hahn & Sohn HDE40SS3 diesel generator at the La Hencl mountain lodge in Nálepkovo, Slovakia.

Key Customer Requirements
The lodge owner required a backup source that:
- Would not disturb guests – the generator operates at only 51 dB, comparable to a normal conversation.
- Ensures a smooth transition during outages – thanks to the ATS switch, power automatically switches to the generator when the main grid fails.
- Allows uninterrupted operation of the lodge – the generator’s power output covers even energy-intensive devices such as the sauna, jacuzzi, and heating system.
How Was the Installation Carried Out?
- The generator was installed on a concrete base outside the main part of the lodge.
- Automatic switching enables an immediate transition to generator power without any manual intervention.
- After installation, load testing was conducted to verify that the generator reliably powers the entire facility.
Thanks to this solution, the owner and guests can enjoy comfort without worrying about power outages.
