Always replace the oil filter together with the engine oil, not separately — the old filter contains accumulated contaminants that would contaminate the newly filled clean oil. Before installing the new filter, lightly lubricate the rubber seal with oil, which makes tightening easier and ensures even seating.

USE / INSTALLATION / OPERATION

1. Disconnect the generator from the power supply and allow the engine to cool.
2. Drain the engine oil according to the service procedure.
3. Unscrew the old filter using a suitable oil filter wrench (counter-clockwise).
4. Lightly lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with fresh oil.
5. Screw the new filter on by hand until the seal makes contact, then tighten according to the instructions (usually an additional 3/4 turn).
6. Refill with new engine oil and after starting check the filter for leaks.
