Hahn & Sohn HDE30SS3 Diesel Generator

The Hahn & Sohn HDE30SS3 diesel generator is designed for users who require a stable three-phase power supply with sufficient power reserve. It can be used as a backup source for buildings and technologies as well as a primary energy source in locations where the electrical grid is unavailable.

• When operating at a frequency of 50 Hz, the generator offers a rated output of 30 kVA / 24 kW and a short-term standby output of 32.5 kVA / 26 kW. The output voltage is 400/230 V, the rated current is 43.5 A and the power factor is 0.8. The generator operates at the standard speed of 1,500 rpm, which is suitable for stable operation of a professional diesel generator.
• Power is provided by an inline four-cylinder Weichai WP2.3D33E200 engine with a displacement of 2.289 l. It is a four-stroke, direct-injection, turbocharged and water-cooled diesel engine with a rated output of 30 kW. The electric starting system operates at 12 V and uses a starter with an output of 3.5 kW.
• The brushless alternator XINGNUO XND184J-1 uses self-excitation and automatic AVR voltage regulation. This design helps maintain stable output voltage during changes in load. The alternator is four-pole and has insulation class H.
• Generator operation is controlled via the digital HGM4010N control panel. The operator has access to an operating display, fuel level indicator, main switch, circuit breaker and a separate emergency stop button. The main circuit breaker protects the generator and connected appliances in the event of overload, short circuit or another electrical fault.
• The entire system is housed in an enclosed soundproof canopy. The enclosure reduces the spread of operating noise while also protecting the engine, alternator and other internal components. The specified noise level is 51 dB(A) at a distance of 7 m. Multiple service doors provide convenient access to the engine, alternator, filters, battery and cooling system.
• The rigid base frame is equipped with openings for handling with a forklift. Separate service outlets for draining engine oil and coolant make regular maintenance easier without requiring complicated access to the internal area.

Sockets

The HDE30SS3 does not include sockets or connection cables as standard, but it is equipped with an output distribution panel. If required, the generator can be customized and fitted with selected sockets, circuit breakers and cable outlets according to the requirements of the specific application.

Note: The unit is supplied ready for use – filled with oil and coolant, with a charged battery and after operational testing has been completed. Before the first start, we recommend reading the operating manual, checking the levels of operating fluids, the condition of the battery and the overall condition of the unit.

PRACTICAL TIP

When selecting the required output, do not take into account only the normal power consumption of connected devices. Motors, pumps, compressors and other inductive loads may briefly require several times higher current during startup. USE / INSTALLATION / OPERATION

Suitable applications

The generator can be used, for example, as:

Placement and installation

• Place the generator on a solid, level and sufficiently load-bearing surface.
• Ensure a sufficient supply of clean air for combustion and cooling.
• Prevent hot air and exhaust gases from being drawn back into the generator.
• The manual recommends maintaining a clearance of at least 1 m from walls and 2 m from the ceiling.
• Exhaust gases must be safely discharged outside residential and working areas.
• For indoor installation, adequate ventilation and exhaust gas extraction must be provided.
• The generator and connected appliances must be properly grounded.
• Electrical wiring and any connection to a building must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Before first start

• Read the complete operating manual.
• Check the engine oil level.
• Check the coolant level.
• Check the amount of fuel.
• Check the condition and connection of the battery.
• Check the unit for any leaks of operating fluids.
• Check the tightness of connections and the condition of the wiring.
• Check that the air intake and outlet are not blocked.
• Set the main circuit breaker to the OFF position.
• Start the generator without any load connected.

Basic startup

1. Check that the generator is ready and that the main circuit breaker is switched off.
2. Switch on the control panel power supply.
3. Start the engine using the electric starter.
4. Let the engine run without load for several minutes.
5. Check voltage, frequency and any warning messages.
6. Switch on the main circuit breaker.
7. Connect individual appliances gradually.
8. During operation, monitor operating values, noise, vibrations and any leaks.

Stopping the generator

1. Gradually disconnect the connected appliances.
2. Switch off the main circuit breaker.
3. Let the generator run without load for several minutes.
4. Stop the engine using the control panel.
5. Use the emergency stop button only in a genuine emergency.

Handling and transport

• For handling, use the openings in the frame intended for a forklift or suitable lifting points.
• Do not lift the generator by unsuitable parts of the canopy.
• Always secure it firmly against movement during transport.
• Do not handle the machine while the engine is running.
• The weight of the unit requires suitable handling equipment.
