Cylinder head cover (engine cover) – Hahn & Sohn HDE20SS3-DW

The cylinder head cover encloses the upper part of the engine, where the camshaft and oil-lubricated valve train are located. It protects these components from dirt while also keeping the oil inside the engine — together with the corresponding rubber gasket (see the separate part "Cylinder Head Cover Gasket II", which forms a matching pair with this cover).

• The cover is cast from aluminium alloy and contains several through-holes (for crankcase ventilation, the oil filler neck, and possibly sensors) as well as a metal mounting plate on one side for attaching additional accessories.

PRACTICAL TIP

USE / INSTALLATION / OPERATION

1. Disconnect the generator from the power supply.
2. Remove the old cover by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
3. Clean the mating surface on the cylinder head of any remains of the old gasket.
4. Fit a new gasket into the groove of the new (or cleaned) cover.
5. Reinstall the cover and tighten the bolts evenly to the specified torque.
