The valve stem seal is a small but functionally important component — a metal housing with a rubber sealing element inside that fits onto the valve guide in the cylinder head. USE /INSTALLATION/OPERATION
- Remove the cylinder head and valve train according to the service procedure.
- Remove the valve and the old seal from the guide.
- Lightly lubricate the new seal with oil and fit it onto the valve guide using a suitable installation tool — evenly, without tilting.
- Insert the valve again and check that the seal was not damaged during installation.
Installation requires experience with valve trainservicing.
